Signs You Need a New Aircon Installation

Not sure whether to repair or replace? Here’s when a new install makes more sense:

Your unit is over 10 years old with recurring faults. At a certain age, pouring repair costs into an ageing system costs more than a new install. We give you an honest assessment — we won’t upsell a replacement if a repair makes sense.

Incorrect BTU sizing causing poor cooling. An undersized unit runs constantly without reaching temperature. An oversized unit short-cycles and leaves humidity in the air. Proper BTU sizing at install prevents both.

Improper installation causing recurring problems. If your current unit was installed without proper piping, drainage slope, or refrigerant charge, it will always have issues. The fix is a correct install, not repeated repairs.

Noisy or vibrating indoor unit from poor mounting. Rattling sounds from a wall-mounted unit usually mean the mount wasn’t level, the damping pads weren’t used, or the unit wasn’t properly secured.

Planning a new BTO or renovation. This is the ideal time to plan the aircon layout properly — unit positions, piping routes, drainage, and BTU sizing for each room. A planned install is always better than a rushed one.
